or another year of a pandemic.
So many lives
of delicate frames
and fragile transparent wings.
It was the conspiracies of spiders
laying out their snares
before the beckoning floodlights
of a forgettable summer.
The slightest breath or breeze
lifts us
from our awkward stances—
grants us the frail
beauty of hovering
for a single moment
in twilight.
