Isolation is a sea in which we swim,
blind among the waves, unknowing.
The raw fog, air thick with salt,
our skin slick as a seal’s sides.
You stroke the next and the next, leaving
behind your rippled signature.
You have heard rumors of a sun,
somewhere above, beyond the borders
of fatigue. Move on towards whatever light
filters down,
its calling. Its calling. Its calling.
